Continuing my list posts... We stopped in Cordoba briefly on the way to Granada. I wish we could have stayed longer.
- An ancient Roman bridge leads to the city. This was Paul's favorite part.
- Lots of statues and depictions of Raphael the archangel.
- Our local tour guide's name was Angeles and she walked us all around the city, showing us small passageways, local shops, and mosaic-covered patios.
- There were so many cute shops but this was a quick stop and we din't have time to shop.
- At the end of the walking tour we had the chance to briefly pop into the Mosque-Cathedral and Paul and I took the opportunity. So far it's been my favorite site. So many Moorish arches and pillars. In the very center of the original mosque is where the cathedral was built. It seemed otherworldly to see the mashup of Muslim and Christian architecture literally on top of each other.
- The scenery on our drives has been incredible. Our main guide, Carlos, equates it to the California landscape. We see olive orchards and vineyards everywhere on the rolling hills with snow-caped mountains in the distance.
